PJSC “AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS” is part of metallurgical Division of Metinvest Group and is one of the largest world-known metallurgical facilities in Ukraine. Azovstal is listed among the country's three metallurgical leaders in production of iron, steel and rolled products. High quality of Azovstal's products is recognized in more than 70 countries of the world.
Azovstal Iron & Steel Works incorporates coke production, sinter plant, blast furnace shop including five blast furnaces, steel-making complex including basic oxygen furnace shop, rolling complex including plate mill, rail and section shop, which includes heavy section mill and rail fasteners mill.
Production facilities of the company ensure production of 5.7 mln. t of iron per year, 6.2 mln. t of steel and 5.2 mln. t of rolled products per year.
The Company is the only Ukrainian manufacturer of high quality rolled plates from 6 to 200 mm thick and 1500 – 3200 mm wide for shipbuilding, power engineering and special machine building, motor vehicle building, production of LD pipes for arctic main gas and oil pipelines, deep water structures. The rolled products are subject to 100% non-destructive ultrasonic testing. Azovstal is the very company where line production of ultra high-strength steel Х70 and Х80 has been set up.
Azovstal, being the leading company of Ukraine, manufactures railroad rails and rail fasteners.
The Company operates the quality management system certified by American Petroleum Institute (API) in compliance with API standards as well as requirements to manufacturers of heavy plates for deep water offshore structures. The quality management system covering production of continuously cast slabs, ingots, heavy plates, sections and shapes of carbon, low-alloy and alloy steel grades is certified by QMI in compliance with ISO 9001 (DSTU ISO 9001, GOST R ISO 9001), the quality management system in coke production is also certified according to ISO 9001 (TUV Nord CERT GmbH).
High quality of company products is proved by certificates of the leading certification and classification societies of the world: Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, Germanischer Lloyd, Det Norske Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Registro Italiano Navale (RINA), Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NKK), API, TUV NORD CERT GmbH, Shipping Register of Ukraine and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
Azovstal Iron & Steel Works was founded in 1933.
