Metinvest equips Mariupol center of Vocational education and training with a new computer classroom

In October of the current year, Metinvest Group Azovstal Iron and Steel Works congratulated Mariupol center of vocational education and training on its 110th anniversary. On the day of the anniversary, a Gift Certificate in the amount of 60 thousand hryvnas to purchase computer equipment was handed over to the educational establishment by the works.

A new computer classroom was opened in Mariupol center of vocational education and training at the end of November. 12 new computers were purchased using funds allocated by Azovstal as well as an uninterruptible power supply unit, multifunction device, acoustic system, head-phones and a projection camera.

Students of all years and specialties of Mariupol center of vocational education and training can now improve their vocational skills with help of modern technologies. New computer equipment and new information technologies will be used at all stages of training activity – during lectures, practical and laboratory classes, in the process of self-preparation and to control training material digestion degree.

Mariupol center of vocational education and training is a long-term partner of the works to train qualified regular labor forces. This educational establishment leavers work in all steel-making departments of the works as crane operators, electric and gas welders, maintenance technicians, diesel locomotive drivers assistants, electricians for electrical equipment maintenance and repair.

Every year, Mariupol center of vocational education and training leavers get initial work at Azovstal. Only in 2011, over one hundred young specialists trained at that educational establishment have been given employment at Azovstal.

“Azovstal Iron and Steel Works” provides a system partnership support to educational establishments of Mariupol by making investments into strengthening of their material and technical foundation. The plant is interested in engaging promising young personnel and developing their professional competences.
