PUBLIC JOINT STOCK COMPANY "AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS" of Metinvest Group has concluded cooperation agreement with State Research and Development Centre (RDC) "Energostal" on reconstruction of gas cleaning equipment at metallurgical units
RDC "Energostal" specialists were engaged in project on gas cleaning units efficiency performance increase. RDC "Energostal" is considered to be the leader of national branch on development and realization of programs for complex modernization of gas cleaning systems, air pollution protection, environmental monitoring realization at industrial facilities. The first stage of cooperation was the project on efficiency increase of converter No.1 gas cleaning equipment. After completion of capital repair in the beginning of March, specialists of "Energostal" carry out monitoring of convertor No.1 gas cleaning in order to find out bottle-necks in equipment of operation. Based on the results of monitoring the Centre will suggest optimal solution the realization of which provides effective environmental protection against transfer of BOF waste products into the environment.
Next cooperation stages will include phased evaluation and modernization of gas cleaning systems of Sintering Plant and Blast Furnace Shop which leads to qualitative reduction of manmade impact on the environment.
