On May 15 at Priazovsky State Technical University the students participating in educational project "School - University - Enterprise", implemented by AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS in partnership with PSTU and schools No. 40 and No. 14, made pre-graduation public presentation of the specialists' and masters' diploma theses.
The main goal of the project is preparation of the specialists maximally adapted to production conditions. While studying at PSTU, for two years the students have been additionally and specifically trained. Educational program developed by the specialists of AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS in cooperation with the Rector’s Office of PSTU, included a number of disciplines that are not usually presented in the standard list of subjects required to gain higher education degree in metallurgy. Specialized program allowed the students to get deep understanding of all spheres of large metallurgical enterprise while still studying at the university. Besides, the students involved into the project had an opportunity to gain their first production experience at the subdivisions of AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS in course of production internship.
Every year within the framework of the project, public presentation of the specialists' and masters' diploma theses prepared by the students participating in the project is held. On May 15 the fifth class of PSTU students submitted their diploma theses to approval of State Examination Committee. These students are to be employed by the enterprise thereafter. As a whole, since 2006 when the project «School — University — Enterprise» was started, 63 PSTU graduates trained within the project have been employed to the enterprise.
Over six years of the project «School — University — Enterprise» implementation the amount of financial help of the enterprise to the educational institutions made up more than 2.6 mln. UAH.
