“Azovstal” iron and steel works of Metinvest Group successfully passed the third compli-ance audit of management system operation in the sphere of occupational health and safety for compliance with the requirements of international standard OHSAS 18001:2007. No non-conformities were found in the process of the audit, the certificate period of validity was ex-tended until July, 2013.
Auditors of ”Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine” thoroughly familiarized themselves with occupational safety and health management organization in structural subdivisions of the works, carried out examination of occupational health and safety documentation, analyzed the system functioning and proved its compliance with requirements of international standard OHSAS 18001:2007. The auditors pointed out that occupational health and safety management system at “Azovstal” is being constantly improved. Optimal conditions for safe work are created at the works, the personnel are provided with required work uniform and modern means of individual protection. Modern equipment and technologies are being implemented to allow securing the personnel’s work as much as possible.
Industrial safety and occupational health management system is arranged on the principle of all the employees’ engagement in industrial risks reduction. It foresees both organization of preventive work in order to avoid industrial injuries, occupational diseases and practical activities aimed at working conditions improving.
