PUBLIC JOINT STOCK COMPANY "AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS" (Metinvest Group) provided Public Utility "Tram and Trolleybus Administration of Mariupol" with rail products in the amount of nearly 300 thous. UAH for tram track repairs, under agreement on social and economic cooperation between the Works and City Council of Mariupol.
The support of the enterprise to "Tram and Trolleybus Administration of Mariupol" aimed, first of all, at provision of trouble-free and safe transport service for the citizens of Mariupol as well as for increase of rolling stock operational period.
It should be pointed out that in 2011 the enterprise provided with rail products in the amount of more than 3,6 mln. UAH for tram track repairs in Shevchenko street, that connects western residential community of the city with industrial enterprises of Mariupol.
"Traditionally we give support to development projects of such kind. Investments in infrastructure and municipal improvement of Mariupol are made in compliance with the long-term development strategy of Metinvest Group, aimed at improving the living standards of people in the cities where the enterprises of the Group are located", noted Enver Tskitishvili, Director General of PJSC "AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS". He also added: "Our enterprise fully understands the role it plays in the life of Mariupol, therefore supporting our city we make investments into its future".
